The main field campaign at the FENCES sites took place Jul 31 to Aug 8. Very good weather and very effective field team, so we got everything done really quickly!
Many things going on at a non-fenced plot in the melur (gravelly desert) in Þeistareykir. Laura is doing a gap intercept transect, Arna Björt is measuring CO2 fluxes, and Inga Svala and Kata are doing the long-term vegetation monitoring. Go team! And of course, food was an important topic of our field discussions. Here is a fancy avocado toast with Arctic thyme prepared by our french chef Mathilde.
